05 Dec Thinking about the future..
Well it’s officially December, yes DEC-EM-BER. What the freak?
I am starting (ok I have realised for a few years) to realise that time goes far too fast the older you get. I feel like I’m older than I actually am, yet I also feel like on the other hand, I haven’t done much in my short 25-nearly-26-years.
Every day I work on & see different designs. Some I love, some I don’t like as much, but I have learnt to understand that each & every single designer, or person is 100% completely different, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.
But I am wondering & have found myself wondering for a while – what exactly is MY style? What niche do I fit into? Do I even fit into one?
I have been a graphic designer for around 6 years & love it. I do know that this is what I will be doing for the rest of my life, ad I am completely okay with that. But as time goes on, I find myself gravitating towards photography, of which I have had the chance to dabble in on a hobby level. Yet, I’m finding myself thinking more & more about the wonderful idea of photographing everything! I fall in love with images & landscapes & the way I see someone else’s world, through their pictures – and it makes me crave to do that.
Today i came across an amazing free stock photo website called Unsplash and I was blown away. The images are amazing.
I’m not sure if these are from the same photographer, or a collection – but each and every one of them stood out to me. They matched my style. From the beautiful capture of a winding road, to the sunlight through a train station and the simple but stunning matte effect.
I want to find locations like these, to capture the beauty of the world, or the beauty of a person. I want to find my own style & own it.
